The first thing that may attract you to this robot isn't its heavenly face, it's the fact that it'sIt's really cute!

Who's Reachy?

        Reachy is a mobile operating robot developed by POLLEN ROBOTICS, originally developed as a robot for hospitality use in public places such as stores or hotels, where the use of mechanical features to express a sense of animation is one of the robot's main features: a pair of antennas on top of the head that can be moved and tilted by motors are used to make the robot look more emotionally expressive. The company has abandoned the Wall-E style of emotional display for a specialized neck joint that allows the robot's head to rotate, pan and tilt in surprising ways. There are two cameras that act as eyes, of varying sizes, which can be used for face and object detection.

Dexterous and free robotic arm

Reachy robots can grab almost anything.

Including your heart.

Reachy's biologically inspired arm has 7 degrees of freedom of movement and can be equipped with a number of manipulators, from a grasping clamp to a five-fingered humanoid hand. One arm can lift objects weighing up to 500 grams and manipulate them with a considerable degree of dexterity

Full of internal components

Reachy comes with a Raspberry Pi, Arduino board and Google's AI software.

Tucked underneath its cloth T-shirt are a number of internal components, including the single-board computer that runs the program, a Raspberry Pi 4 B with 2GB of memory.

It runs the Pi's official Raspbian operating system while using an open source Python library to control the robot. In addition to the Raspberry Pi 4 B, Reachy has a Google Coral AI gas pedal and a range of small modules from Luos Robotics. Also included are speakers and microphones for voice recognition/speech and a power supply.

Complete and efficient software system

Reachy combines the most used and powerful tools into an easy-to-use open source platform. It's designed so you can learn, develop and experiment straight away. Don't worry, if you want to take the plunge, we have a simulator for that too.

Overall Reachy is an expressive open source humanoid robotics platform that can be programmed in Python and ROS.

It is particularly good at interacting with people and manipulating objects. Mobile manipulation robots may be the basic prototype for the full form of future robots, and we are excited about the future of mobile robots.
