Open platform for child-sized humanoid robots for research and education

BRUCE (Bipedal Robotic Unit with Enhanced Compliance) is an open platform for child-sized humanoid robots for robotics research and education, originally developed in a joint effort between RoMeLa and Westwood Robotics.

Powerful drive, dynamic guarantee

BRUCE is one of the few humanoid robots in the world capable of jumping, thanks to the explosive power and dynamic performance provided by the Koala BEAR drive. The unique liquid cooling technology provides a strong and stable dynamic output.

Bionic design, topology optimization

BRUCE robot is made of carbon fiber composite structure, weighing only 4.8kg, with a 3000mAh battery life of up to 20min*, the compact body is convenient for developers to efficiently, easily and safely promote scientific research, and also can be registered with the wonderful spontaneity.

Carbon fiber skeleton for ultimate lightness

BRUCE is robust and highly modular with 16 degrees of freedom throughout its body. While breakage is inevitable, BRUCE is easy to repair, and BRUCE is always ready to try out your crazy ideas with you.
